| Message: | First, let me welcome you to Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue's website. Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue is a group of men and women that are extremely dedicated and highly qualified individuals that have committed themselves to serving the needs of the citizens of both Neenah and Menasha.
I am Al Auxier, Assistant Chief/Fire Marshall for Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue and am proud and thankful to be part of an organization that has sworn to serve the citizens of our two communities. My career with NMFR started in August of 1979 and continued until March of 2006. However, after a short retirement I was fortunate enough to be considered for and later offered the position I currently hold. Over the years, I have watched the fire service change from a service that was reactive to fires and emergency situations to a service that is proactive in helping educate the public to prevent loss of life and property. The commitment of both the Neenah Fire Department and the Menasha Fire Department to be fiscally responsible to the citizens was obvious when they consolidated in January of 2003. We have become "One Department Fully Involved" in our communities and will try to meet the needs of everyone that lives and works in Neenah and Menasha. My responsibilities with NMFR focus primarily on fire prevention activities and extend into investigation of fires. Fire prevention activities are conducted by firefighters that are committed to serving and protecting members of our community. Activities include presenting public education programs to both the young and old, giving tours of our stations and equipment, visiting schools with the engines and taking part in variety of community events. Another part of fire prevention is the inspection of factories, businesses and multi-family occupancies to make sure they comply with various fire codes. These inspections and investigations are done by a group of firefighters that are highly skilled and committed to providing a fire safe environment in which to live and work.
